2025 January through Fall Camp BMW Thread

Posting this here because there’s no other place to put it, but… in the vein of “I’ll have what she’s having” in When Harry met Sally…

See 46:20 for the “2025 team will be better than 2024.” Boren makes a case… but I’ll still have whatever he’s having.

Not gonna lie, I think next year might be a bit of a mess. None of the coaching hires save for the new OL coach really inspire confidence and we're losing a ton of talent. Wouldn't surprise me if we lost 3 or 4 games.

I have no idea what to expect. An argument, in both directions, can be convincingly made. I’m looking forward to see what they can put together. I’m going to lean optimistic until I have reason to believe otherwise.

I'm not arguing with you, but going from 2006 to 2007, we lost a Heisman-winning quarterback, our top running back, and our top 3 wide receivers, and we followed that up with another run to the championship game.
2007 was a weird year, though, where really no one deserved to get to the championship game.

But 2007 had staff continuity and they had a ton of starters from the defense returning if I remember correctly. If 2025 was dealing with only one of staff turnover or talent loss, I'd be more optimistic. Hell if Day hired grand slams at OC and DC I'd still be more optimistic. The DC hire screams Kerry Coombs level disaster while promoting Hartline gives me Beck/Warriner flashbacks.

I feel about the same, we put all the chips in on the table to win a Natty this year and hey, it worked. Truth is we were going to lose a lot of talent either before this season or get one more year for a title run, so I am happy we got the extra year from so many guys to make it happen.

We've got a lot of talent on paper but unproven talent, so things could go sideways. I think the offense is going to be good, but question is the defense in my mind after losing our DC and 8 of our 11 starters (especially losing our entire DL starters). Plenty of talent on defense, but question is does Patricia utilize it correctly...sure hope so, it has been amazing to watch a dominant defense again but there has to be some level of drop off expected.
