2025-2026 Ohio State Men's Basketball

Just snagged a couple tickets for next Sunday's game. A chance to see Bruce's last home game and maybe break Hop's scoring record? Just can't pass that up. Work can fuck off for those 4 hours
Yeah, it's probably shaping up to be the best home game to attend this season. But gotta find a way to keep the momentum going and can't stumble at PSU. Hopefully the team will continue to get healthier down the stretch.

I think Indiana is cooked at this point. They are out of gas running on fumes after that failed effort against Sparty at home today, they really needed a top notch effort today and the game down the stretch wasn't ever really realistically in reach for them. Id be shocked if we lost at home to them at this point. It's just getting past that death trap in slappy valley on Wednesday

Seems we switch places after today. We go last 4 in they go first 4 out.

Still have to finish

Auburn and Cal who are both right at the brink as well both losing at home to bad teams yesterday gave us a big boost along with us winning this game today. Avoiding a loss to Penn State is really the crucial thing at this point as that would knock us back down to that level.

Kentucky should have ended Auburn but the refs got involved at the end helping Auburn to the win. I am still ticked off over that one.

That said Auburn just needs to lose 1 of their final 2 with that 2nd game being at Bama and they are finished as no 16 loss team has ever got a NCAA at large bid.

Cal took that same horrific loss Ohio State did against a terrible Pitt team the only difference is they did it at home and they got smoked and it was when it mattered more in timing.

I think Auburn is done, even if they beat Bama they are gonna have to have a pretty good SEC tourney showing and from the looks of it I don't think they are capable

So happy for the boys getting the W yesterday. If we had a few bounces go our way and we beat North Carolina and Pitt and are already at 20 wins. No shame in losing to scUM, VA, Illinois, MSU and Nebraska. We were very much in 5 out of 6 of those games. I see us getting to 21-22 wins and getting in which will be amazing for Bruce and this program to build some momentum. Let’s get and stay healthy and maybe we can make a run in the tourneys coming up. Would be so much fun to get on a run and see Buckeye nation behind this team.

Just sayin': Well, for starters Micah Parrish (Senior), Ques Glover (Senior), and Meechie Johnson (quit team) definitely won't be back. I'll also say Kalen Etzler (who has been here 4 years; but redshirted one) won't be back either.

Can Ohio State return the "core players", i.e. Bruce Thornton, Devin Royal, Evan Mahaffey, and John Mobley? I'll say that they also want to keep Ivan Njegovan, Colin White, Taison Chatman, and Austin Parks all who have potential to develop and be significant contributors.

Just the fact that they finished 2024/2025 2-5 and declined the Las Vegas tournament leads me to believe that there was some unhappiness/disenstion on the team. Does Bruce thornton go pro? Do any of the above transfer out?

The other big questions are:

1) What about Aaron Bradshaw and Sean Stewart. They were major disappointments considering the amount of NIL money they probably received, etc. I'm guessing that they just hit the transfer portial again this year.

2) Can Diebler get some impact players for 2025/2026 out of the portial?

The game @ Ped State is really a crucial point for this program; they have to win and keep the momentum going. If they stumble and lose it's pretty much right back to where we were before the Purdue game.

Yeah, Ped State is the last place team in the B1G; if Ohio State can't beat them they probably do not even deserve an NCAA invite. Indiana may be a "must win" too. The Hoosiers are fighting for the NCAA invite too. They are at 17-12, 8-10 and I can't see both Ohio State and Indiana getting in. That game might just be an "elimination game" for both teams.
Ohio State finally earned a marquee victory on Sunday, knocking off No. 8 Purdue 82-74 for an unassailable Quad 1 win that could do wonders for the Buckeyes on Selection Sunday. Taking down the Boilermakers vaulted Ohio State from the First Four Out in CBS Sports Bracketology to a No. 10 seed as the first week of March gets underway.
Sunday was less kind to Indiana, which fell 77-64 to No. 13 Michigan State for its fourth straight loss. The Hoosiers began the day as one of the First Four Out, but woke up Monday firmly out of the field. It's IU's second four-game losing streak in Big Ten play, which has been one of the streakiest teams in college basketball under first-year coach Darian DeVries.
Indiana wasn't the only bubble team to crash over the weekend. In fact, the Hoosiers' Quad 1 loss against a quality opponent was respectable in comparison to the losses taken by Auburn and Cal. Both the Tigers and Bears suffered Quad 3 losses and are now among the First Four Out.

Fortunately, it is in Columbus. I'll say if they win the next 3 games (including one win in the B1G Tournament) they are definitely in.
