Yep. They could lose to Texas Tech in their final regular season game and get bounced in their 1st Big 12 tourney game and they would still make it without landing in Dayton.

Cal-State Bakersfield had a pimp on the coaching staff. Literally. They paid this guy Mays (a former player there 10 years ago) $3,000 per month to assist, and he was pimping a girl on the side everywhere from California to Vegas to Oregon and Washington. Mays has since been arrested and as part of a search police found he had hundreds of images of child porn including some as young as 4(!).

Rod Barnes, who was Cal-State Bakersfield's coach & hired Mays, previously was head coach at Ole Miss many years ago, and coached against the Buckeyes at the Puerto Rico tip-off which was sort of the coming out party for the 1999 Buckeyes team that made the Final Four.
