Duke wins, 68-63. Wolverines to me seem kind of a system team, if you have guys who can beat them 1-on-1 and they have a cold shooting night from 3 like they did today, or you can run the hi-low really well like Duke did, they can be beat. I don't think UM will win the natty this season.

I hate to say it, but Bennett Stirtz made his case to be selected all-B1G first team over Bruce Thornton today. I guess we will just have to hope that somehow voters will give Bruce the nod over either Jeremy Fears Jr or Braden Smith, who have lower scoring numbers but higher assist totals on better teams.

Another team that had a bad night yesterday was St John's. UConn led 41-26 at halftime ... and could've won without scoring a single point in the second half, as St. John's finished with a Rick Pitino career-low 40 points. The Red Storm went the final 17:28 without making a shot from the field.

Purdue's Braden Smith just became the 5th player in D-1 history to reach 1,000 career assists. He is within striking range of all-time #1 Bobby Hurley, who finished with 1,076.

Good news/bad news UCLA beat Nebraska last night. The good is it helps strengthen the quality of OSU's win over the Bruins. The bad is it means the next-to-impossible has to happen for OSU to get the #7 seed in the B1G tournament - that would require USC, which has gone off the rails completely, to upset UCLA in the season finale. USC star Chad Baker-Mazara quit the team recently. Baker-Mazara was on his fifth college basketball team in six years. We'll see if the Trojans have any fight left in them, but at this point it seems OSU is destined for the 8-9 game in the conference tournament.
