The Coach is very important. But lets be honest he wasn't talking about the coach when he made that statement. He was talking about the players. Look at what Kentucky spent, and look product they've put on the court.

Well he obviously couldn't keep the same failed roster, so maybe in hindsight that attack was a last-ditch effort to plead with his boss to keep his job.
