Diving into what actually held Ohio State back this season.
No. 1 - Poor evaluation of the transfer portal
No. 2 – They were a very bad rebounding team
No. 3 -Ohio State fouled at a near-historic rate
No. 4 - They did not share the ball well enough
No. 5 - Lack of urgency

The reality that this team was basically built to foul a lot is the most stupefying part of it. The reality of the situation is you will foul when you are undersized in the post & not just letting the other team have easy baskets, which all was amplified by recruiting not one but TWO HIGHLY foul-prone frontcourt players through the transfer portal. Your defense shouldn't have to be forced to foul a lot just to keep trying to have some pressure on the opposing offense. Having a team that was foul-prone has the butterfly effect of putting yourself in foul trouble late in the game, forcing some of your better players to the bench and putting the opponent on the foul line for easy points, which makes it incredibly hard to win games that are close at the end.
