McNeese was beating Clemson by 20 at one point, and today they've trailed Purdue by 25. How bad is the ACC? I keep wondering.
Duke may be the easiest #1 seed to knock off if the way this conference has been whipped is any indication. Duke also lost to Kansas and KY in nonconference, so perhaps they are being overhyped.
Gonzaga is by far the most underseeded team according to KenPom, so they could challenge Houston today.

Purdue is the first B1G team to make the Sweet 16. 7 others will have a chance, but how many will make it? UCLA is the biggest underdog (vs Tennessee), Oregon is a slight underdog vs Arizona, UM is a slight underdog vs A&M, & Illinois is a lower seed (but favored slightly somehow) vs UK. UW is a slight fave vs BYU, while Maryland and Sparty are both favored by 7.5 points. The oddsmakers say 5 B1G teams make it, while the seeds say 4. I'm willing to say 5 will get there.

Hard to believe, but Purdue is going to their 6th Sweet 16 in the last 8 NCAA tournaments (2020 doesn't count). I couldn't believe that one, I had to look it up. They did lose 3 straight seasons 2021-23 to double-digit seeds, but one of those games was actually in the Sweet 16 vs St Peters. Boilermakers will play either Houston or Gonzaga in Indianapolis.

Should be wild in Indianapolis next weekend. Not close to Painter’s best team, but there’s nothing too terrifying about their path to a Final 4.
