The goals and focus aren’t changing as Ohio State begins the second week of training camp.
The main thing is still the main thing: getting better every day. While the Buckeyes aren’t shying away from the task of winning a national title and preparing to do so with each camp session, the little things are going to be what gets them there — especially in August.
“The preseason is toughness, discipline and skill,” Ohio State coach Ryan Day said Thursday morning inside the Woody Hayes Athletic Center. “Those are the three areas we really want to just focus on. Overall toughness in preseason. And the reason we say that is because we have to keep each other upright, we have to take care of each other, we have to work with each other, but at the same time, we have to build that callus and that edge.”
The next phase of those three main attributes begins now. Ohio State is entering its second week of training camp as it continues its early pursuit of a national title. And Lettermen Row is taking a loot at Three Big Storylines for the Buckeyes — one for each side of the ball and a wild card — as they get back to work inside the Woody Hayes Athletic Center.
Offense: Will tight ends continue making progress early in camp for Buckeyes?
Defense: Are Ohio State linebackers ready to be unleashed?
Wild card: Does focus begin turning toward Notre Dame this week?
