Gonna kinda call this now. Smart 2021 = Ed O 2019.

Not even close. Smart has been excellent since they hired him, 65-15 (including an 8-5 year one), has won quite a few big games…just hadn’t got over the hump. He’s pretty universally recognized as a top-10, if not top-5 coach.

Going into 2019, Ogre had a career 41-36 record and was known as a bit of a buffoon. O wasn’t looked at by anybody with common sense as a top-75 coach.

Perhaps. But the Buckeyes beat Utah without two of their three best WR's and other starters. Georgia's secondary is better than Utah's but Bama has no one like JSN to replace Metchie and Jamo, and maybe it's a wash between the rest of the WR's on OSU and Bama.

Eh I'm not sure Bama's WR corps is close if they have an ebuka or a Harrison Jr this year they don't looking for portal wrs

Had they Georgia'd yet again, it's a much more doable parry. And Arch Manning considers whether Kirby really does ruin all QBs.

Instead you have this. A feel good story about a walkon talent at QB. You have to outrecruit Bama and Georgia and USC for the top signal callers.

I mean, we didn't do shit. If I had my way, the game would've been called for COVID or something. 1-3 SEC teams will always be a huge thorn in the side and I'm not expecting it to gets that much easier when Saban retires. One of the Florida's are bound to pop back up eventually.

Recruiting is what it is. Majority of talent is in the south and OSU isn't moving the university any time soon so Day and staff will have to figure out how to win more battles and get an NC themselves. If they don't, then they're fucked.
