Most fans are delusional. It's just their nature. For example, my own father has predicted Ohio State to win every single game since 1942 (and to be fair, he's been right 77% of the time).
Michigan fans just take their delusion one step beyond. Good for them. And better for us. When they take the inevitable Buckeye nut punch every year, and their hopes and dreams are once again shattered, our schadenfreude is that much more enjoyable.
What fans think or say or do has little or no effect on the performance of their team. Just because Michigan fans are the DFBIA (and they really are), it doesn't mean that the Michigan football team shares in their fans delusions and dumbness. The team can be perfectly rational and realistic....
Except that they aren't. And why aren't they? Because the Michigan media share the exact same delusions as the Michigan fans. The Michigan media compared a guy with 11 pass attempts over two season to Cam Newton, a Heisman trophy winner, a national champion, a #1 overall draft pick, literally one of the best players in the entire history of college football.... And a guy with 4.5 sacks over two seasons to Joey Bosa, a two-time All American, a national champion, a #3 overall draft pick, literally one of the best players in the entire history of college football.... And Michigan has the best DE tandem in the country.... And the deepest RB room in the country.... And just look at all that depth at CB.... And this is OUR YEAR!!!!!!!
You know, when the media constantly tells you how great you are, it is only natural for you to listen. And after you've heard it enough, to believe. Michigan players believe the hype and they start talking about mirages and revenge tours and guaranteed wins ... and burn scholarship offers from Ohio State ... and promise blood on the field ... and spike the turf at Michigan State ... and disrespect their opponents, even after a loss ... and in general act like arrogant, entitled jackasses.
Michigan fans are the DFBIA.
Michigan football is the DTIA.
Dumbest Team in America.

Yep. Chris Brockman was the voice of reason in that segment. He laid it out for Rich but he still couldn't hear it.

*ichigan doesn't run the systems that kids are looking for to showcase them for success in the NFL.
This isn't high concept stuff here. Its just how it is.

This article (apologies if it's already been posted here), published the day before Mel Tucker made Harbaugh his bitch, did not say Harbaugh had taken the fun out of the rivalry by frequently putting an overrated, crap product on the field. No, he and his (at the time) 4-3 record against MSU had taken the fun out of the rivalry by being too damn good.
"[Harbaugh] has made the UM-MSU rivalry feel like a foregone conclusion.
He has gutted it. Muted its buzz. Re-established the Wolverines as the dominant player." etc.
