Washington has a new coach and about zero direction on offense heading into the season. At least scUM QBs have some sort of experience. The guy "leading" the Washington QB pack headed into the preseason has thrown 3 passes. I believe I read that they only return 4 starters on offense in total (of which I can name none)

Basically about the only thing they have going for them is being at home. scUM is so meh though at this point that its actually a debate whether they can win.

The Utah team that Harbaugh lost to in his first game had much more proven competence heading into that season than this Washington team.
Washington is going to be bad this year. If ttun can't beat them, 2020 is the year the wheels really come off the wagon.

UW has recruited on par with tsun the past 4 cycles. It should be a coin flip game and it's at home for UW but the COVIDcrowds take away their home field advantage.

The somber silence of a half empty stadium should feel like a home game to tsun.

That’s a good line about the silence making them feel at home, but my experience running DSA spreadsheets for a few years told me that traversing three time zones, east or west, results in about a two touchdown underperformance. This was as true for Oregon state as it was for Oregon, as true for Rutgers as for Ohio State.

Based on this I’m inclined to think TTUN is going to struggle. The huge turnover in the UW offense is a concern, but the travel, crowd-so-quiet-you-can-hear-keys-jingle notwithstanding, is likely to be too much for a team led by the khaki man.

Sparty is god awful. I'm not seeing that one even with the 2 weeks prior.

Love to be wrong though

I think scUM will be desperate and we know they are arrogant. I don't know how good Sparty may be, but sometimes in that rivalry when Sparty's bad they've beaten overrated scUM teams.

Regardless, I still think if Purdue's offense can be good this year, they have the horses offensively to beat scUM if scUM thinks that game is going to be after playing Sparty/Ped/Wisky/Minny....

Gut feeling: They get by UDub, lose to Wiscy or PSU and beat the other one. Indiana will scare them because Brown still won't know what to do about teams that run crossing patterns and the Bucks will bury them. I think there's more talent at Michigan than this site is willing to give them credit for. This is not the team of slot dots and receuvers turned QBs, but it's also not a team ready for prime time playoff consideration.

OK, I like their helmet. I like that they stick with it year after year. From a marketing POV, it's smart. I don't care where the picture comes from, or if it's in B/W or color, you instantly know it's Michigan. I also like Penn State, USC, Texas, for the consistency of their uniforms.

Take OSU out of consideration for a moment; why do teams change their uniforms/helmets? a) to help Nike, Champion, Addidas make money. b) to make some money selling "alternate" jerseys c) because they have an image problem.

Teams that don't mess around with their uniforms: Yankees, Dodgers, Cardinals, Lakers, Celtics, Packers, Cowboys, Steelers - why? because they don't have to. The consistency of the uniform speaks to the consistent success on the field.

The teams that change their uniforms the most are teams that suck for long periods of time: Phillies, Reds, Browns, Padres, Seattle whatevers, Indiana FB, Northwestern, Vandy, Cal, Kansas FB. Their inconsistency in uniforms is consistent with their lack of success on the field.

Then there's Oregon - do they even know what the school colors are?
