Is it too late for me to get alumni tickets? Any guidance on how to go about getting alumni tickets (if even possible) would be appreciated.

Just sayin': I'm pretty sure it is too late for this season. To get alumni tickets you have to be a member of THE Ohio State Alumni Association. If you are a member they send you out information on buying tickets which involves using your Alumni Association ID/password to get into their Ticketmaster site when your designated "window" to buy tickets is open, etc. However, Ticketmaster does have a feature that allows alumni to resell their tickets to the public. The alumni selling the tickets can set their own price which might be at a premium. Right now everything is in a state of flux as it hasn't been determined how many fans they are allowing for the games. With the supply being potentially low (if they only have 50,000 or less fans) and the demand high (expectations for a National Championship run) I wouldn't expect to see any "good deals" on Ticketmaster though.

I figured that would be the case, especially this year. Just had never gone through the process since I live so far away now. Guess I'll just pay through the nose and hope for the best to get in.

FWIW, the alumni season ticket options (i.e. opt in or opt out) came out today:

While no final decision has been made regarding the 2020 football season, the Department of Athletics has been working diligently with university leaders, public health experts and government officials to create game day plans that protect the health, safety and well-being of our student-athletes, staff, faculty and fans. In order to provide the safest environment, certain measures will need to be implemented at Ohio Stadium this year, including physical distancing, mandatory masks/facial coverings, limited concessions, no tailgating and no skull session at St. John Arena. These measures will result in a reduced crowd capacity of no more than 20 percent of overall stadium capacity and will impact all ticket holder constituencies in both overall ticket quantity and seat location.

Physical distancing in the seating areas will require a reduction in season ticket quantities in order to accommodate as many accounts as possible. Seat reductions will be made based on the following scale:

• 1-10 season tickets purchased – retain a maximum of 2 season tickets;
• 11-20 season tickets purchased – retain a maximum of 4 season tickets;
• More than 20 season tickets purchased – retain a maximum of 8 season tickets.

The Department of Athletics must reserve the right to refund orders if necessary. We appreciate your patience and will communicate all pertinent details as soon as we have them.

We understand not all fans will feel comfortable attending games for health and safety reasons, or may not be interested in attending due to reduced capacity guidelines. Therefore, we are allowing all season ticket holders to opt out of their 2020 football season tickets commitment without longevity or eligibility penalty, if they wish. Those who choose to opt out:

• Will retain their consecutive years of purchase;
• Will retain their full season ticket eligibility (no lapse in purchasing will be applied to long-time purchasers and faculty/staff members); and
• Will still be able to participate in the planned reseating of Ohio Stadium as the 2020 Seat Selection Process will now occur prior to the 2021 season for all eligible accounts.

YES, I’M IN:
If you wish to keep your 2020 season ticket order intact, please log into your account here by Monday, August 3rd and indicate that preference. Please Note: Because of the anticipated physical distancing guidelines which will significantly reduce capacity in the stadium, the Department of Athletics must reserve the right to reduce ticket allotments and/or refund orders if necessary. Our goal will be to accommodate as many season ticket holders as possible.

We will communicate Seat Selection information at least 5 days prior to the first selection window opening once physical distancing guidelines for the stadium have been finalized. As a reminder, seats selected for the 2020 season will only be for one year and will be based on appropriate physical distancing.

All necessary refunds and seat reductions will be completed once the opt-in/out process is complete and details about stadium capacity for the season has been confirmed.

NO THANK YOU, I’M OUT: In these unprecedented times, we hope you will consider converting your investment to a fully charitable contribution that will help offset the grant-in-aid costs of our student-athletes. Contributions are vital to sustaining Ohio State Athletics’ ability to provide resources for student-athletes and compete at the highest levels while remaining 100 percent self-supporting. If you prefer to opt out for the 2020 season, please log into your account here by Monday, August 3rd and select from the following options:

Season ticket and parking payments:

1. Donate your ticket payment(s) to the Champions fund to support student-athletes.
• All customers selecting this option will receive 50 points per seat for the 2021 Seat Selection Process only;
2. Apply your ticket payment(s) as a deposit to your 2021 football season tickets.
• All customers selecting this option will receive 25 points per seat for the 2021 Seat Selection Process only; or
3. Receive a full refund for your ticket payment(s) already made.

Qualifying contributions (Buckeye Club/President’s Club annual membership):

1. Convert your total contribution to a charitable gift to the fund to which it was originally donated.
• All customers selecting this option will receive 50 points per seat for the 2021 Seat Selection Process only;
2. Apply your total contribution towards your 2021 football season tickets eligibility.
• All customers selecting this option will receive 25 points per seat for the 2021 Selection Process only; or
3. Receive a refund for the non-charitable portion of your contribution.

Ticket Assurance Plan: In the event that any 2020-21 Ohio State Athletics events are permanently cancelled, or are played under conditions that prohibit fans from attending, ticket holders will have the option to receive a refund for the affected game tickets, receive a credit toward a future ticket purchase, or donate their ticket payment(s) to support student-athlete scholarships. This guarantee will apply to all ticketed athletic events.

Our changes in protocols this year are designed to be helpful and to provide a level of confidence as you invest in our programs. The Department of Athletics will continue to follow the advice and directives of the Governor, University leadership, health experts and medical officials. Our highest priority is the health, safety and well-being of our students, faculty, staff and fans.

Bought some tickets to the Iowa game, been way too long since I've been back in the Shoe. The costs of the ticket? It's fine, I really only need one kidney.

Yeah, I hear kidneys are over rated anyway. Hopefully you didn't buy your tickets from this guy:

I was hoping that they would break it up in 1 or 2 game packages so more season ticket holders would get to attend at least 1 home game. I thought that was the fair thing to do; however, that wasn't what they decided on.

Well, sadly I decided to "opt out". With only 20% capacity, we are only looking at (102,780 x 20%=) 20.556 fans or 10,278 pairs of tickets. After they designate allotments to the big donors, political VIPs, varsity "O", player's parents, students, faculty, and some staffers (including the OSU athletic department) there won't be too many (if any) left for the "end of the line" alumni season ticket people like me. I probably wouldn't have been offered tickets anyway; and if by some remote chance I was, the seats would undoubtedly be the worst ones in the stadium, etc.

Apparently the season could start as early as Aug 29th, I sure hope it does. I'm ready for some Ohio State football!!!

The Big Ten greenlighted a nine-game season for conference football starting Oct. 23, however, the decision came with the caveat that spectators would not be allowed to attend.

While the public sale of tickets will still not be permitted for the time being, the Big Ten is still searching for avenues to get the families of student-athletes and the coaching staff in the stands.

“We are looking to see what we can do on a campus-by-campus basis to accommodate the families of our student athletes, both home and away, as well as the families of staff,” Penn State athletic director Sandy Barbour said.

Here's a different fund raiser, i.e. purchase a seat for your picture:

JOIN BUCKEYE FANS AND FRIENDS IN OHIO STADIUM’S A-DECK THIS YEAR WITH YOUR VERY OWN FAN CUTOUT.

For the 2020 football season, Buckeye fans can still carry on the tradition of having a presence inside the ‘Shoe. Put on your favorite Buckeye gear and purchase a fan cutout so you can be in Ohio Stadium on game days.

All fan cutouts will be located in A-Deck [$50] and a limited number can be purchased on the 50 yard line [$75]. Student fan cutouts will be located in the student section in the south stadium stands [$25].

Place your order by Monday, October 19 at NOON (eastern) to have your cutout in the stadium for the first home game of the season. Any orders submitted after that deadline will be placed in the stadium for the next home game on Saturday, November 7.

Fan cutouts will not be available for pick up at the end of the season. During the order process there will be instructions available to order a second fan cutout to be delivered to your home.
