Earle Bruce is correct. The Cotton Bowl victory on 1-1-1987 (28-12 over aTm) gave the Buckeyes an 11-10 bowl record at the time. That was the game that Earle wore the suit and the fedora, and the team wore red shoes. Urban’s last game got it evened up at 25-25.

Since the AP poll started in 1936, what is the number of times that tOSU has finished with a perfect record in football and not won the AP national championshp?

Twice, 1944 and 2012, is correct. 1961 and 1973 were undefeated, but not 'perfect' seasons. LJB has talked about the "Civilian National Championship" in 1944.

And the AP poll was taken after the 1971 Rose Bowl, in case somebody was thinking 1970 could be included if the only loss was after the last AP poll.

Since 1970, name a Buckeye who led the team in scoring one year, and also led the team in total tackles another year.

Hint - it was in the 1970s
