I have a post from a few years ago on the Pet Peeves thread about that. It was the "in phase" of 2013 or so. @ScriptOhio will probably dig it up with a super 70s related comment in another decade or so.I'd like to punch the first talking head who used "sticks his foot in the ground" on TV.

The LSU DE was on Tua quickly, Tua panicked and airmailed in desperation to his WR who was actually pretty open, for an incomplete pass.
Danielson was going on about what an amazing throw it was with pressure in his face, going on and on. It was confusing as hell, and then he made the comment of how it was such a good catch. Then a complete awkward pause as he started to realize it was nowhere near a completion. It was some serious Vern Lundquist space cadet type commentary.
