For all the talk about how offenses have developed over the last 15 years, the game still comes down to toughness and fundamentals and winning the line of scrimmage. Programs like Ohio State and Alabama make that a core focus in their practices and player recruitment and development strategies. It might explain somewhat why those programs have been fairly consistent in their standards of excellence despite the evolution of the game, while other programs (like Oregon) who focus on being "fashionable", "cutting edge" and "fun to watch" end up as inconsistent flashes in the pan with little in the way of hardware to show for their efforts. There's nothing wrong with adapting to the changes as long as you don't lose sight of what the game will always be about.I see Oregon still doesn’t know how to tackle.
I'm guessing this is an Oregon thing. I've never heard anyone talk about their offensive line.
