Alright, there is actually other stuff going on Fri. and Sat, although some parents will likely be watching The Game instead, but nevertheless....

D1 - Elder keeps rolling, no surprise there, but then Pickerington Central shocks Mentor and wins by 7....Mentor the last few weeks has had their issues and it caught up to them. Pickerington Central vs. Elder, Cinci vs Cbus and we're forcing them all to drive up to Canton, yolo

D2 - Massillon absolutely cruises to a 35-10 win, didn't break a sweat over previously undefeated Avon, they'll match up against LaSalle who did the same to TCC, giving us the title game we all wanted, LaSalle and Massillon!

D3 - In an overtime shocker, Mansfield took down Aurora! The magical story will continue all the way to the state title game and they'll get Trotwood Madison who pulled out a 24-19 game over Bishop Hartley. I'd say Trotwood easy but Mansfield has consistently found a way to make it ugly and come out on top. It's only an hour drive to the game, they'll have the crowd on their side and I've seen crazier things happen, I'll be rooting for the upset!

D6 - Oh yeah, Anna 36-6 over the fake mechanics from Mechanicsburg. Frauds. Not letting that one go. East Knox got kicked to the curb as they lose 42-14 to Springfield. Springfield goes into the big game at 14-0....and no way in hell I'm taking them with the way Anna is playing.

The table is set for the state championships, let's dig in!

D4 - Licking Valley scrapes by, by a lick....ha.....over Poland Seminary, 25-24....and they'll get, CLYDE IN THE MOTHER F'N UPSET! The 8 seed keeps doing it and they curb stomp Wyoming 35-14, this is awesome, it's not gonna stop here folks, the 8 seed is going to take it, the school that baaaaarely made it over the 9th seed team in the computer points of 16.2 to 16.0 is going to shock the world, but not us folks because you heard it here first'ish

D5 - Our own Reid Carrico's Ironton Tiger's cruise to a win over West Jefferson, 49-21, and they'll get Kirtland who didn't have a tough time with Oak Harbor. Fun game with two great teams, they've been the two best teams in the division and it's rare that you get them to meet in the state title game. My heart wants Kirtland but Ironton has been rolling this year and they seem like the designated Team of Destiny. Or maybe that's Clyde. I dunno.

D7 - In the itty bitty division, Lucas takes down Canal Winchester 15-12, and of course Marion Local demolishes Patrick Henry and they will then crush Lucas to win the state title, again.

I don't know anything about Anna but the name reminds me of someone whose last name is Arbor. Besides, I'm about 10 miles from New Middletown. Go Tigers!

Anna cruised so easily, no shocker, there

Awesome crowds, especially for the Massillon/Lasalle game....11,200 for a HS game, God Bless America, an experience none of them will ever forget

Trotwood won in the first session, 14-7, almost 6000 for the early game....Mansfield has a lot to be proud of, they hung in there and did what they've done all year, gave themselves a chance

Pickerington Central beats Elder 21-14 to claim their 2nd title in 3 years, officially a state powerhouse

I'm excited to see Clyde tomorrow, they'll have their hands full but will be an awesome story

Ending it will be the main event to me, Kirtland vs. Ironton - if your cable provider carries it, this is a must watch game. Kirtland has a fantastic offensive system and Ironton has Reid Carrico who makes an insane impact on that team, Ironton won titles in '79, '89...'19 gonna get added? I think so (sorry for the jinx, i'll just say congrats Kirtland now)
