2019 4-star power forward visits Ohio State

The Buckeyes played host to one of the top juniors in the state over the weekend.
After losing out on one time verbal pledge Torrence Watson, who decommitted from the Buckeyes in August, Chris Holtmann and the Ohio State basketball program are still trying to secure 2018 prospects. But that doesn’t mean the staff isn’t keeping a close eye on talented recruits from the class of 2019.
On Saturday, while most were kicking back and relaxing during the long weekend, Holtmann and crew played host to one of the top junior recruits in the state.
Making the trek to Columbus from the Cleveland area, Alonzo Gaffney unofficially visited Ohio State to get more familiar with the Buckeyes.

Coming off a huge AAU season, Gaffney has locked in numerous scholarships from a long list of solid programs. Like Ohio State, coaches from Louisville, Florida, Kansas, Iowa, and Georgetown have all recently thrown their hats in the ring for the four-star power forward.
An All-Ohio selection after averaging nearly 13 points a contest last season as a sophomore at Villa Angela St. Joseph, the 6’9, 190-pounder is now suiting up for head coach Sonny Johnson and Garfield Heights.
Ayala sets up visits
After flirting with reclassifying to the 2017 class, 2018 combo guard Eric Ayala is ready to take his official recruiting visits.
Now at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, the Delaware native will reportedly take trips to Miami, Oregon, Ohio State, Syracuse, and Maryland in the coming weeks.

One of the most sought-after prospects on the high school level, Ayala is currently considered the sixth combo guard and 77th overall prospect in the class of 2018, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

- As first reported by Woody Wommack, Ohio State has reportedly offered 2019 safety Joseph Charleston of Milton High School in Alpharetta, GA. The four-star rated Charleston also holds opportunities to attend schools such as Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, and Tennessee.
