2019-2020 College Basketball Discussion (Official Thread)

2 things I thought the committee got wrong today.

West Virginia being a #2 seed I thought was absurd they should been at BEST a 3 seed.

Michigan State being in the top 16 at all. No way they were 16-7 and their NET numbers were not even that good in quad 1 and quad 2.............

MSU already lost and WVU down 17 right now.

Ohio State should beat WVU was up at the half and blew that game.

I hope Carolina finishes the season strong. It would be a shame for them to not be a top-75 team in the one season OSU beats them on the road. They are #94 in the NET as of today. Cole Anthony's injury certainly tarnished that win somewhat, they still aren't a great team but it seems strange to think asking UNC to be top-75 is too much to ask.

Why would they give Duke the ball here? Clearly the Duke player is the one batting the ball out of bounds. This business of whose fingers it technically touched last needs to be secondary to common sense sometimes.

I wish there would be some common sense element to officiating. I don't think the people who invented basketball intended for a defense to get rewarded for knocking the ball out of bounds simply because a ref made a call they weren't sure about and frame-by-frame instant replay didn't make it obvious whose hand the ball touched last. The offensive player is catching the ball. The defense is batting it out of bounds. Duh.

Agree with this 1000% and believe I have written the same here. Same with baseball and a guy stealing 2nd but sliding off a millimeter from the bag. The player beat you to the bag, you were the one that knocked the ball out of bounds, etc. Spirit of the game knows this. Play on and stop this 5 minute review nonsense.
