2018 Week 14 CFB Open Thread

Jake, I think that it is in the interest of the SEC for Alabama to lose. I will not be at all surprised that they lose a close one today. This whole SEC nonsense is bull. If nothing else, they will flatter Georgia and claim that two SEC teams are needed in the CFP. Then, the SEC will get their arses kicked in the other bowl games.

Sure it is, but it's not in the interest of Nick Saban. The notion that he is in cahoots to get two SEC teams into the playoff is laughable. That would mean Saban is willing to have his team lose a CCG - HIS players and coaches - so Georgia can benefit. Ridiculous.

As if Saban and his team are willing to roll over in the SEC title game just so Georgia can get in the CFP.

The conference commissioner would probably like it, but stop it with the "Alabama doesn't care if they win" stuff.
I think Saban has a long term interest in the SEC looking strong. If he loses to GA, he's still going to play in the playoffs this year.

Next year or other years, if Bama needs to be GA, so much the better. Plus, recruiting...... you'll play in the SEC, you'll have a great chance of being in the playoffs.

As I see it, Saban benefits from a loss...... or at least breaks even in the long run.

Pretty sure the conferences are under contract with the bowls and cannot refuse.

No system will be perfect. BCS had issues, CFP has issues. Expand it..... Keep the committee.... See if that helps.

In other news, Bama D getting all they want from GA.
The bowls have a contract with the CFP. The conferences have a contract with the bowls to invite their teams. Teams are allowed to refuse a bid to a bowl game. Only happened a few times.
