Such is life.

All over the country, there are Christmas trees and Hanukkah candles up in homes where they are also planning funerals and remembering the lost.

It's always all mushed up together, isn't it? Just depends, like those old magic eight ball toys, on what floats to the top at any given moment.

Probably why we created the idea of a New Year. Everybody needs to wipe the board clean from time to time, and feel like we're starting fresh with the hope of better outcomes.

The passing of more remainders of "The Greatest Generation" in my family give me pause to stop and appreciate all they have experienced. All they have done for us. My mother still solders on for now. As does an aunt in hospice. They were a tough, hard working bunch. It feels like a foundation washing away.

Threads like this are what makes BP a special place and I believe a reason why there is such a great core group of posters.

I hope my flippant post didn't imply that your's was out of place. I am genuinely sorry for your loss and am grateful that this site can be used to share our ups and downs. No weakness in that.

That said - I still want my dildo back.
