scUM's defense is ridiculous. They were a good defensive team towards the end of last season, they're even better now. That assistant coach they hired to coach up their D and then guys like Simpson and Matthews have made a world of difference (but kind of funny that now it's their shooting which sucks). This ain't your older brother's scUM team.

IU is legit. Nebraska is legit. And we only get to play all 3 of those teams on the road!

It's going to be a tough conference season.

I'm thinking the "down years of Big Ten basketball" are over (after about one year, actually).

Lots of good teams in this league in 2018-19. Should be a fun ride.

This marks the second gutty finish over a 2018 NCAA Tournament team for the Buckeyes in a little over a week, after Ohio State held on to beat Cincinnati on the road in the game's season opener.

Id say Cincy probably makes it. Creighton more of a NIT looking team. But a OOC road win against them will still looks better than squashing some under .500 low major at home in the end.

Iowa looking likely to beat UConn tonight, on the heels of that Oregon win. I dont know how much to take out of wins vs two very unproven and embryonic teams. I do believe Iowa looks a bit better than last year. McCaffery's son does a good job of passing, Garza looks much improved, and their depth looks better also.

Honestly I would go opposite. I thought Cincy is the worse team of the two. I feel like tourney bids are going to be sparse in the AAC this year, the Big East not much better but definitely the easier league to build a tourney resume in.
