Over on OSU And Clemson easy. For OSU: losing 2 games is the worst I see, and that's a push. Clemson losing 3 is a push. Find 3 games they lose. I only see fsu as the only loss, and their worst case is losses to fsu, auburn and Louisville.

i'm not so sure that i'd consider the over (9) for clemson to be "easy." they play at louisville, whom they beat by only 6 last year. they play at virginia tech, whom they beat by only 7. they play at nc state, whom they beat in overtime. they play fsu, whom they beat by only 3. finally, they play auburn, whom they beat by only 6.

if clemson weren't losing watson, williams, gallman, leggett, and scott, then... maybe. but that's their whole offense, which, of course, includes their star quarterback.

Alabama broke them.
I thought the same thing. Bama will do that to you. Lol. But the off field stuff has killed them.

Dantonio was recruiting better, but not sure that’s going to continue. He had a developmental program going and he was doing a great job with it, but Bama seemed to take their spirit, and the other problems don’t make me sanguine for a quick recovery. You can recover fast when you have superior players.

Athlon’s Top 25 is out. Top 10: Bama, Buckeyes, Fla St, Wash, USC, PSU, Clem, Okla, Aub and scUM. Other notables: 11 LSU, 12 Wisky, 13 Texas, 19 Tenn, 20 ND, 21 Oregon, 23 Miami.

I don’t have too much of a problem with that top 10. I am a little skeptical of Washington, USC, and PSU just in terms of wondering if they can do it again. Clemson falls because Watson is gone, but if they get some good QB play, they will be right in it. I wonder if Oklahoma can play enough good defense. Auburn is the biggest surprise. I don’t get that one. I’d put them around 25-30. ScUM is based on Harbaugh – which I still don’t understand how he gets the respect out of 3rd place divisional finishes. But they have recruited well.

I have never bought Ed Orgeron as an elite coach, but I like him. I’m not sure they are 11 with the QB play they have shown. Wisky is well-positioned to move up. Herman has a history of coming in and winning 10 right away, but that program has deep issues. Tenn may still be over-rated in this ranking. I’ll believe it when I see it with them. I get a sense that Oregon has fallen and can’t get back up. I think Miami could be poised to out-perform expectations.
