Had a feeling we might see Scherzer out of the pen tonight. Looks like they're trying to get a couple innings out of him.

JFC, now strike three on what should be the 3rd out gets away, Weiters throws it into right field, and it's 6-4.

Dusty's magic appears to be kicking in, again.

Three and a half hours into it, they're still in the 7th inning. Ridiculous. :roll1:

The NFL game started a half hour later it's going to end in a few minutes.

I have no warm feelings for Dusty Baker but wtf is he gonna do? You go to the pen in an elimination game, bring in Max Sherzer with a lead and that should be it.

Of course in the broader sense, his teams have a history of choking BIG TIME, so it's a Dusty led culture thing imo but that tactical move on going to Sherzer last night can't really be questioned.

The second part is what I was referring to - even when he does what looks like a wise move it blows up in his face, somehow. Weird inning - it's not like the Cubs were knocking the crap out of Scherzer. He just couldn't get the last out to save his life, and his catcher was doing him no favors.

So Cubs-Dodgers holds zero interest for me. If the Yanks make the WS I won't care about it, either. But I'm sure the TV networks are salivating over that prospect.

Astros or bust. Otherwise, it's football and hockey time.
