A few trips over to Mgoblog should do it.

Because people here would think I'm sick, that's why. I'd be embarrassed for strangers to see the level of vitriol and general poor taste that runs through these discussions. It's not normal, and it's not just from my side, either. When my cousins and I were pallbearers at my grandpa's funeral, we caught ourselves yapping at each other about the football game while waiting to unload the coffin at the cemetery. I mean my mom caught us. None of us really thought twice about whether that was the right time or place. There is a healthy (and I mean less sociopathic) rivalry on my wife's side of the family, which also has a lot of UW and Michigan alumni across 3 generations. But I'd never break out the stuff that goes on during Thanksgiving at my parents' house in Michigan.
Let's just say 30 years of near constant bickering on this topic has sharpened the tone a bit.
There's a guy over on the Wisconsin board that harbors what can only be considered an unhealthy level of hatred toward Michigan.
Unhealthy level of hatred towards Michigan? I'm not sure what you mean. Is there such a level? I'm dubious to say the least.
Pretty sure I like this guy. There's a guy over on the Wisconsin board that harbors what can only be considered an unhealthy level of hatred toward Michigan.
Whenever Wisconsin and Michigan meet, his posts are pinned to the top of the board. He's been called into service this week:

Ryebadger said:As for Michigan, it's always a joy to see their fans startled out of the comfort of their college football cocoon. Maybe it's a well-designed coping mechanism, like they have at assisted living facilities. Pack your days with recruiting star counting, Jim Delaney conspiracy theorizing, referee excuse making and 6 degrees of John U Bacon - can you beat Michigan's favorite football intellectual and show how the standard three loss season of your choice would have been a national championship if not for these 6 fluky plays? Still awake? Check Notre Dame's record. Make fun of MSU behavioral issues from a high horse that might as well be a unicorn. And insult Ohio State with a line about the academic superiority of a university you didn't even attend.
They're busier now than when their team was relevant! Certainly we can forgive them for failing to recognize the contradiction of labeling Wisconsin a perennial one year wonder. Or, for avoiding the universe's deeper mysteries, such as, how can a school that only has, like, a bunch of 2 and 3 stars and no jumpman logo on their jerseys be better than us in football and basketball for the last 2 decades?
