The idea that Lochte was the mastermind of this scheme sounds like a script for Zoolander 3. But hey, people aren't talking about his ridiculous platinum dye-job or Michael Phelps today, so mission accomplished I guess.

So apparently here's a quick breakdown of the newest story goes (reported just now on NBC).
Lochte & crew were drunk and a gas station. They were in frat boy mode, peeing on walls and tearing up outside advertisements at a gas station. Cops were called but didn't respond. As the swimmers tried to leave/evade, a man approached with a weapon, money was exchanged (using a translator) for the damages done...

Ryan Lochte did not lie about the "robbery" incident ... and there are 3 minutes of missing surveillance video that will back up most of his story ... this according to sources directly connected to the swimmer.
Our sources say Lochte and his team claim they were indeed taken out of a cab at gunpoint, but the video doesn't show that because the gas station edited it out.
We're told Lochte mistook the uniforms worn by the security guards as police uniforms, and he claims during the missing 3 minutes he and the other swimmers were pulled out of the taxi at gunpoint.
As for his claim the cab was pulled over en route, one of the sources concedes, "That's a problem."
And our Lochte sources say reports that his 3 teammates admitted the story was a lie are untrue.

A law enforcement official is telling The Associated Press that two security guards pointed guns at Ryan Lochte and three other swimmers during a dispute at a gas station.
The change in the version of events came after police interviewed one of the security guards on Thursday. It further deepened the mystery of what truly happened inside the station and set off an international dispute.
The official said the swimmers broke the bathroom door and the soap dispenser inside. Security footage from inside the station shows the swimmers vandalizing the bathroom.
Workers at the gas station went to see what the commotion was about, the official said. At that point, a security guard also came and confronted the swimmers, and pointed a gun. A second guard came behind him and pointed another gun.

So the tape was edited? Lochte and teammates are in a car and then, *poof* they aren't in the car anymore? I'm pretty sure that even Brazilian autorities are smart enough to know that that wouldn't fly, and I doubt that is what happened.
I have no idea what happened but this just gets more and more bizarre each time a new "claim" comes out.
