2016 NFL Season (Official Thread)

lmao, this is the good stuff I needed in my veins on this boring Saturday night. Colts twitter is tracking the "Colts airplane" to Houston, where Jon Gruden just called the game for ESPN.

No one. NO ONE. Gets more false publicity about being the next coach than Gruden.

edit- I don't mean to disparage this guy, but it popped up on my timeline and is too good.

The only guy I remember spending years in a TV booth then coming back to coach was Vermeil, and he had never won a ring. Rectified that when he returned.

But Cowher, Dungy, and Gruden - all of whom have been rumored for years, less as time goes by - all have rings. Why would they give up a cushy TV gig to come back and work 20 hour days, managing a bunch of overgrown young men with more money than brains in many cases? Hell, Cowboys fans were still going on about Jimmy coming back until 2014. I took a lot of heat for telling them it was never going to happen.

Cowher and Dungy didn't come back and I don't think Gruden will, either.

No real surprises yesterday but I sure wouldn't mind seeing one in Pittsburgh today. It won't happen, though.

Bart Scott predicted a Dolphins win. You don't suppose spending most of his career as a Raven influenced him, do you?
