Ohio State NFL Draft picks made $87 million Thursday night (Alabama players made $10 million)
http://www.cleveland.com/osu/index.ssf/2016/04/ohio_state_nfl_draft_picks_mad.html

Bosa $25,882,931
Zeke $24,965,720
Apple $15,163,008
Decker $10,978,226
Lee $10,232,990

and there's a whole bunch more going today and tomorrow
will easily top $100M
It bothers me how people who think college athletes should get paid cite how much coaches get paid as unfair. I'm pretty sure that 2-3 of the players listed have parents who have made that argument. Yea if Urban didn't get paid 5 million a year how much would your son be making now?

OK....that argument works for 5 out of 85 just on the current roster. Spread it out over 4 years. These guys are the outliers.....especially so many going in the first round.

The rest are still getting hundreds of thousands in free benefits. The guys who don't go to the NFL get great benefits from programs like "Real Life Wednesdays" where they can get their foot in the door at companies in a program that other students don't have access to. All because of Urban Meyer and The Ohio State football program

And that's just the tip of the iceberg. Players at Ohio State get a free ride for doing what they love to do and doing it on national TV 12-14 times a year, and even if they don't end up getting drafted the fact they are an Ohio State football player--even the walk-ons--pretty much guarantees they'll have a job somewhere for life. There probably are very few former players having a hard time finding a decent job...the same really can't be said about a lot of the general graduates.

right.....so the argument that "look at these 5 and what they're making now" only applies to a very tiny few. which was my point.

Urb & company hit an absolute grand slam, on multiple levels, back in 2013 with Zeke.
