You don't want to go down that road. Its not an intelligent way of dismissing stats because all stats have them. The runs happened so they are included, and are very significant to what the defense gave up. There was a back that had a very high ypc but he only had a few carries against you guys. Those are the type that can be more intelligently viewed as outliers, which is why I didn't include his #'s.

If you would have had the courtesy to quote my entire post, instead of a snippet, you would see that I said I am not making any excuses for the stats. However, one busted play, and a long run in garbage time, when Ohio State was playing prevent against the pass are relevant when discussing the statistics. Statistics are only useful to a degree, anyway.

Do you realize that Ohio State on average was 6 positions lower in the polls than the SEC team in those first seven meetings? Or that the 12-1 Alabama team in 1995 beat an Ohio State team that already had three losses on the year? It would have shocked me if the SEC teams hadn't won the vast majority of those games. They were terrible match ups for Ohio State in many instances yet the Buckeyes took that mighty Alabama team to the wire.

Call me a homer, but tOSU is the best offensive, defensive, and special teams team in the country. The best at everything. Sorry, I can't help but see it that way. Buckeyes > AFC Pro Bowl team.

So here is what I am wondering - we're 113 pages into this thread. WHEN are we going to find an Alabama fan that doesnt:

1. Try to convince us how Alabama is the greatest team since _____ ?

2. Go all in on the SECSECSECSEC is great narrative?

3. Try to sell the point that the modern football era started in 2008?

Just one. I mean we've had more reasonable Ped State fans per capita than we've had Bama fans so far.

Unfortunately this is about what I expected. Other than one or two guys in the group from Alabama that we work with constantly, the rest of them are exactly like what we've seen on here. The only time they've been semi-quiet in the past 5 years is when Auburn was beating them.
