Game Thread 2015 Sugar Bowl: (1) Alabama vs. (4) Ohio State, Jan 1st @ 8:30p ET, ESPN (civilized thread)

Yeah, I saw that as well. Comparing Missouri on offense to Ohio State is ludicrous.

I not sure where you two went, but OSU should give us a much better test than Mizzou. One of the keys will be being able to stop the run and putting pressure on the QB, both of which Bama has been able to do pretty consistently. On offense, if you try to load the box, either Cooper or Ardarius Stewart may have big days...

If your personnel favor a run, we substitute to mitigate your success of running. If your personnel favor a pass, we substitute more astute pass rushers. The HUNH gives us problems because we are often caught with bad match ups with the opposing teams personnel. So...if you guys can play tempo, you might find easier sledding.

This is where I think we exploit Bama's D. Our personnel, in most of the skill positions are certainly threats in both the run and the pass. Where we have to improve is getting the plays called in time to effectively run a HUNH well enough to confuse the D. When solid defensive teams have had time to adjust, especially time to switch match-ups, our O has struggled mightily.

There you go! I just gave you the answers to the test.

I'd think tOSU keys on cooper and single coverage elsewhere to allow focus on run game. If get beat, make it be by your 2,3,4 receivers and tight ends.

What I can almost guarantee from this game is that it won't be a defensive struggle.

While both D-Coordinators are solid, scheme heavy guys they don't always bring a plan that works.

Kiffin and Herman, given a month to prepare an offense WILL have success.

I think Bama fans can expect a game much like the Iron Bowl only our DB's are significantly better (which almost seems wrong to say).

Ohio State fans can expect a game much like Michigan State only MSU has nobody like Amari Cooper.

Fair assessment.

Must pressure Sims. Put him on the ground and make him have jittery feet in the pocket. Easier said than done but if any DL can do it I believe it's the Buckeyes. Should be easily the best front four that Alabama has faced this year.

Good luck with putting Sims on the ground. He's only been sacked 10 or 11 times...

ETA: And the Bama defensive line will be the best OSU has faced too. The teams match up very well...

We have faced plenty of backs like Amari. And better ones also, B1G has the best RB's hands down. This will be both teams hardest test and I see the winner taking out the FSU Oregon winner. We need a football SEC VS B1G challenge similar to the basketball ACC vs B1G challenge oh wouldn't that be great every year. So nice to get the SEC 1st round though.

Cooper is a WR.

And the 2002 Miami team came into the nc game giving up less sacks than that. You don't need to watch past the 1st play of the game to see how that worked out for them.
This game should be epic.

You know, it wasn't Alabama or LSU fans (with one glaring exception) that were the problem here after our BCSCG losses, maybe because LSU is successful and their fans are just plain fun and Alabama has the confidence that goes with having such a storied and successful program.

Nothing would please me more than to knock Bama back into the dark ages.

We've been pretty successful at that with Michigan... GBYBMYMSOB
