so Auburn hired DC Kevin Steele away from LSU. a guy most LSU fans didn't like from the day he was hired and complained about all season long.

today LSU poached Dave Aranda from Wiscy.
I absolutely love this hire. the Badger defense has been solid the last few years from what I have seen and am looking forward to him being in Baton Rouge.

oh and just to make the hire a little cooler, LSU opens 2016 against....Wisconsin

Does Auburn need a QB coach by any chance?

I'm not so keen on the bolded, but I think you're gonna love Aranda. Runs an aggressive 3-4 and does his homework.

Good look into his scheme and philosophy here:

The SEC blowhards are pretty much unbearable with the "8-2 in Bowls!" talk

How impressive is it really though when they were favored in basically every game? And beat such super powers as Texas Tech, Memphis, NC State, Northwestern, Kansas State, Oklahoma State etc.....

It's all about matchups.....which it seems year after year the SEC always lands favorable ones
Not sure about the other SEC bowl games, but here are the four SEC vs. B1G bowl games, with regular season records in parentheses:

Playoff semi-final. SEC conference champ (11-1) against B1G conference champ (11-1). No mismatch on paper.
Alabama 38, MSU 0

Citrus Bowl. SEC East champ (10-2) against B1G East #3 (9-3). Advantage Florida on paper.
Michigan 41, Florida 17

Outback Bowl. SEC East #3 (8-4) against B1G West #2 (10-2). Advantage Northwestern on paper.
Tennessee 45, Northwestern 6

TaxSlayer Bowl. SEC East #2 (9-3) against B1G East #4 (7-5). Advantage Georgia on paper.
Georgia 24, Penn State 17

The SEC had advantage in two bowls, the B1G in one bowl, and the fourth (and biggest) bowl was a wash.

The SEC won two blowouts, the B1G won one blowout, and the SEC won a fairly close one. What's funny is two of the blowouts (scUM over UF and UT over Northwestern) had the "paper underdogs" winning.

I was looking at something like this as well. From what I can tell, the SEC went into a bowl game as an "underdog on paper" in 3 bowl games...

TAMU - SEC #8 beat ACC #5 Louisville
Miss. St. - SEC #9 beat ACC #8 NC State
Auburn - SEC #10 beat AAC #4 Memphis.

In the rest of their match-ups the SEC team was either a higher conference seed than their opponent or was an equal seed.

Conversely, the B1G played in 3 games where they were either the higher conference seed or an equal seed as their opponent.

Minnesota B1G # 10 beat MAC #7 CMU
Sparty (1) lost to Bama (1)
Northwestern (5) lost to Tenn. (5)

Not sure what to do with Ohio State (3) over ND (1 Ind.)

In every other game, the B1G played an opponent which finished higher in their respective conferences.
Iowa (2) Stanford (1) L
Nebby (9) UCLA (6) W
Wisc. (6) USC (2) W
Indy (8 Duke (7) L
Ped (7) UGA (4)
scUM (4) Florida (2)
