Can understand why ya'll fired him, but can't shake the feeling that Riley is a downgrade and knee-jerk reaction. They just swung from one extreme of the emotion spectrum to the other extreme.
Seems like there were better options (remember an OC and FCS guys w/connections to Nebraska)

Didn't just lose DPE. Riley is sitting 2 defensive starters for violation of team rules too, one being the starting Mike.

Depleted receiving corps (injury), lack of leadership in the LB corps, new coaching staff and scheme, and a QB who can only hit the broad side of a barn 50% of the time.

Not to mention some guy named Ameer isn't there this year.

No idea why anybody is optimistic at all about this game, LOL
