I've never liked a flag for hitting a punter if you actually have a legit shot at blocking it and miss by a split second. If one finger touches the ball that is not a penalty, but you can still do just as much damage to the kicker as if you don't get a finger on the ball. One of those rules where you have to err on the side of safety, I guess, but I've never really liked it too much.

It sure is wonderful that the lawsuit crazed flag fests never EVER protect the defense. If they touch the helmet or facemask, it's a penalty and possible expulsion. But if the ballcarrier wrenches the facemask back or leads with the helmet? Play on
