I was talking to some people after The Game on this very topic.
I think of it like this; yeah Hoke is a worthless fuck of a human, yeah he sucks as a coach all year long BUT the fat cocksucker has made it much closer than it needed to be 3 years running.
The worst thing in the world for OSU is a scUM coach who loses a lot of other games but has his team always play out of their skull in The Game.
I'm not so sure I want him around anymore as an OSU fan to be honest. He has talent up there. If they ever get unfucked at QB they could be dangerous.

several were posting that they don't want to see the Buckeyes in the playoffs because it would be an embarrassment to the B1G.
i told them that the REAL embarrassment was taking several highly rated recruiting classes, and face-planting your way to a 5-7 record.
they banned me.
i've been on that board for ten years.

I was in C deck and couldn't hear Carmen Ohio until they stopped. Just another example of the bush league garbage that has become commonplace under Brandon's and Hoke's watch.

Agree with almost all of this. But I don't think even a good QB could mask this boob's lack of ability to formulate a game plan or make in-game adjustments. He's just not a good coach, IMO.
That said, you're right about the OSU game--it's as if he could give a [censored] about going 3-5 in conference and losing to the likes of Rutgers and Maryland, but 6 days later he has his team playing like the '85 Bears when OSU is lined up against his team.

My dad(angrily) said the same thing as we sat in C-Deck wondering how a team that just lost to freakin' Maryland all of a sudden is playing as disciplined, sound, and prepared as ever.
It's like he knew he was cooked and turned the last 3 weeks into planning for this game.

I think my favoritest moment of the game Saturday was Hoke choosing to burn a timeout than run Sugar Shane out there for one play.
I was just begging for Bosa, Bennett, and a blitzing Lee to get one shot at snapping Morris in half.
