2014 Preseason and Regular Season Polls

I am going crazy listening to the Baylor apologists harping about OSU losing to Va Tech.

OSU played three bowl eligible teams in the non-conference. Baylor played teams with a total of 7 Div I wins.

The question for Baylor fans is this: If OSU had played your non-conference schedule what would our record be today?

The mistake the committee made was ranking them so highly to begin with.
Not only that Baylor lost to a 7-5 team instead of a 6-6 team. Big Whoop. They also had a long time starting QB in that game.

Committee was never going to let Baylor in unless they had to because of their non conference.. Baylor can suckit... TCU on the other hand has a legit gripe but the who Co-Champs and lossing to Baylor clusterfuck screwed them.

even the BSC had us at 4.

Yeah, but we are at #4 anyway. I think that is fair. The BCS has virtually the same top 10 (Baylor and TCU are switched), plus it isn't "TOP SECRET" Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if the Committee just ran the BCS numbers, switched Baylor and TCU due to head-to-head, and then busted out the cocaine and hookers for the rest of the night.

You just know Craig James and shit would want to be a part of that.

When I found out that we were "in", I was so surprised. But It would have been nice for the committee to leave Florida St at #3 and to put us at #4 with Oregon at #2. That way, we would have gone to the Rose Bowl to play against Oregon. But I can't complain.

Could someone give a decent argument that the big 12 is better than the bigten? Not just saying it. I looked at the standings and just don't see it.

Exactly. The conferences are similar--two top 10 teams (OSU and MSU vs. TCU and Baylor), one 15-or-so team (Wisconsin vs. K-State), and a bunch of trash. K-State at #11 is better than UW at #18, but the Big Ten also has a team just inside the top 25 in Minnesota.

I would take Nebraska Corn over Chokelahoma and Texas also. Pretty big drop off in that conference, after K-State.
