Too soon old, too late smart
I was fortunate enough to be in the stands when #1 Purdue (with Leroy Keyes and Bob Griese) took on tOSU in the 'Shoe. Tates hits a receiver down the middle, the kid fell down, ball on his stomach, hands outspread. Tates was on his knees, picked it up off the guy's belly, and held it up looking at the ref? Ref swished his arms, signaling 'incomplete'. Beautiful. Seem to recollect it was 10-7 tOSU on top.
