The American supercar. I am not sure they use the "Stingray" moniker anymore, but the history and performance has at times beep spectacular.

It is as good as many of the other supercars(not all) and much less money.

For me, I love the early 60's versions and the late 60's early 70 versions as well.

For me, the 1962 and the 1971. I would love to restore one of these years to pristine if I didn't have to break the bank.

Tests are not yet in and you are talking about 120k plus for the Audi.

Lets compare apples to apples.

Chevrolet is making a somewhat affordable Supercar. The estimated price is in the mid 50,000 range I believe.

So, that's a "No"?

Alright, lets all take a step back here.

Disclaimer: If they were the same price, or if someone said, here are both to choose from, you may have on for free, I would choose the R-8 every day of the week and twice on Sunday, as well as probably any number of GT's and sports cars, bang for the buck or not, mostly made in Germany. If you want apples to apples dollars, I'd take probably any depreciated 911 series Porsche... etc, etc. That's personal preference.

But, that's not what we're talking about here.

At all.

This is the Corvette. It is, the quintessential American Sports car. Might not be the first, might not be the best. Might not be the coolest ever made. These things are all debatable.

But, it is iconic. It's enduring, and like them or not, they are American.

And it's important that its done well. And that's a pretty darn good looking machine. Maybe a bit busy for my taste. Not in love with the grill. But, I think I like it better than C6 if not quite as much as C5. Its, at fist glance, a strong offering, and I'm happy to see it.

I agree about the grille - but I can can grow to like it.

I think its a great looking machine. A harmonious balance between past, present yet the future "look" of a car you could drive every day.
It walks a fine line of humility and aggressiveness. I appreciate the design very much.

Nothing makes sportscars look more impressive then having plastic be the focal point of the front. First the Camaro, now a Stingray :shake:

If not for that, it is a terrific design.
