I like the Lighty comp for Tate. Dave had a bit more height but he was still undersized for the 4. Tate a bit stockier than Lighty at this poin in their college careers.
One example of why I think they are different. Both were considered pretty good football prospects. Lighty was being recruited as a wide receiver, Tate as a defensive end. They are different in body composition and the types of athletels they are.
I think a slightly less athletic Paul Harris is a good comparison. What Scout said about Harris I think applies equally to Tate. Harris had 2G height in a PF build. His ball handling was a little suspect and developed into a decent shooter.
He's kind of in position limbo until he's able to stroke his jumpshot. Strong in his drives to the basket and an excellent finisher. One of the best rebounding wings in the class. Powerful dunker. Very hard to guard and creates matchup issues. Scouting Powerful guard who can actually play a few perimeter positions. Toughness is one of his signature attributes.
