Reports are that he was suspended for the first two games of the season for undisclosed violation of team policy. Evidently, he disagreed with that suspension.

Wasn't Mark named to the Big Ten "leadership team" or something like that? Sounds like a true leader, bailing on his team after getting slapped on the wrist by Fitzgerald.

Fitzgerald also lost WR Christian Jones (54 catches, 12.4 average, 4 TDs) for the season. Knee injury. Time to sell Northwestern shares.

I italicized "he" because while it says it's a quote from him it was more than likely written and released by someone in the PR department - especially since now he's bailing.

And Mark supposedly stated his reason was to transfer closer to home, which is Texas. He's one class short of graduating so it'll be interesting to see if that can get "expedited" in order to be eligible elsewhere.
