UF lineman charged with stealing scooter

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) -- Police say a University of Florida offensive lineman has been charged with stealing a scooter.
Campus police say redshirt freshman Jessamen Dunker was arrested Wednesday and charged with vehicle theft, a third-degree felony. They say he also was charged with driving with a suspended license.

HOUSTON ? A former University of Minnesota wide receiver who quit the team after accusing the head coach of abusive behavior has been arrested in Houston on a marijuana possession charge.


According to Harris County court records, A.J. Barker was arrested Sunday on a misdemeanor charge of possessing less than two ounces of marijuana. Barker is free on $500 bond. He is to appear in court Feb. 14.


His father, John Barker, declined to comment about the arrest when contacted by telephone at his St. Paul, Minn., home.


A.J. Barker had been leading the team in catches when he abruptly quit in November. In an email which he posted on a personal blog, Barker accused Minnesota coach Jerry Kill of demeaning him and questioning his family background. Kill denied the accusations.

Sorry JLB, gotta go with NF on this one. Petrino claimed a real woman didn't exist. Teo told a transparent lie that was only believed by his most loyal fan-boys. Armstrong Cup it is. I would start a thread for it; but No Dame already has it sewn up for the year.

Florida CB Purifoy facing drug possession charge

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) -- Florida cornerback Loucheiz Purifoy is facing a misdemeanor charge of marijuana possession.
Purifoy, a rising junior from Pensacola, was arrested early Sunday after being stopped for a traffic violation.
He was riding in the back seat of car that was stopped for a right-of-way violation. Police discovered a small amount of marijuana (2.5 grams) in the car. Purifoy was given a notice to appear in court Wednesday. According to court records, his arraignment is scheduled for Feb. 21.
