The video shots obviously resemble something from the Middle East. And these types of things happen over there almost on a weekly basis.

Our legal NCO ran this marathon today. He finished at 2 hours 45 minutes and 1 second. Obviously he was safe but immediately phone lines were jammed. He used Facebook to communicate.

Usual Suspects: Islamic Terrorists, N. Korea (possibility?), homegrown asshole that hates the governent (some guy blew himself up on his front lawn over the weekend).

NY Post now saying suspect is a Saudi national (later denied by the Boston police)

Investigators have a suspect — a Saudi Arabian national — in the horrific Boston Marathon bombings, The Post has learned.

In addition, Boston police has surveillance video of someone bringing multiple backpacks to blast site, according to CBS News.

Police also confirmed that there was a third explosion, at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum. It was not immediately clear how much damage was done or whether it was related to the bombings at the marathon finish line.

The library bombing occurred about 4:30 p.m. and more than a mile from the marathon.

A law enforcement source confirmed to The Post that 12 people were killed and nearly 50 were injured in today's blast.

As law enforcement authorities investigate today's explosions in Boston, I ask all New Yorkers to keep the victims and their families in your thoughts and prayers.

I have spoken with Police Commissioner Ray Kelly, and the NYPD has stepped up security at strategic locations and critical infrastructure, including our subways.

Some of the security steps we are taking may be noticeable, including deployment of Critical Response Vehicles and additional police personnel, and others will not be.

We have 1,000 members of the NYPD assigned to counter-terrorism duties, and they along with the entire NYPD and the investments we have made in counter-terrorism infrastructure are being fully mobilized to protect our city.

UM Coach: Bomb Sniffing Dogs Were at Start, Finish Lines for 'Drill'

University of Mobile's Cross Country Coach, who was near the finish line of the Boston Marathon when a series of explosions went off, said he thought it was odd there were bomb sniffing dogs at the start and finish lines.

"They kept making announcements on the loud speaker that it was just a drill and there was nothing to worry about," Coach Ali Stevenson told Local 15. "It seemed like there was some sort of threat, but they kept telling us it was just a drill."

Stevenson had just finished the marathon. His wife had been sitting in one of the seating sections where an explosion went off, but thankfully she left her seat and was walking to meet up with him.

"There was just smoke, another explosion went off," Stevenson said. "We all started running. There were people crying." Stevenson said there was no question in his mind that this was an intentional act.
