Which team gets to skate around with the trophy at the end of the playoffs?

The league will announce the schedule at the top of the hour.

Go Pens!

Rooting for a Pitt/St. Louis final. Would be epic, and my roommate is a big Blues fan.

The East might be the best it's been in a long time. Lots of contenders. West might win because the East will beat the shit out of each other. Especially the round 1 matchup between Philly and Pittsburgh..

This is the best the East has looked from top to bottom since the early 90s when you had the Isles, Rags, Philly, Toronto and Montreal all having good teams.

That said, I think the Stanley Cup winner comes from the West this year. The bottom half of the West isn't that good (Chicago plays no defense, LA can't score and San Jose is full of walking vaginas)....the 4/5 matchup between Trashville and Detroit comes down to goaltending and if Detroit is willing to be physical and actually not taking 50 shots from the fucking boards like they seem to do every playoffs.

I think LA is built for the playoffs though. They've been scoring lately, too. Tough matchup for Vancouver in the first round. I think Vancouver beats them, but it's not going to be easy.

Pens would likely have to go through Philly and New York just to reach the conference finals. That's rough.

The team with the better draw is New Jersey from the 6th spot getting Florida in the first round.

It is rough. The East is going to be beat to hell no matter who comes out of it. I like St. Louis in the West because they're built like an eastern conference team. Very physical, strong defense, strong board-play. Perfect for the playoffs, and they've been ridiculous since Hitch took over. They'll be a tough out. Two goalies who are really excelling in that system, too.

Just picked up my tickets for game one in Pittsburgh, by the way.

The same Hitch we kicked to the curb because we swore it was a coaching issue, not an organization issue. :sad2:

Marian Hossa was just put on a stretcher and taken from the arena in an ambulance to the hospital with a police escort. Raffi Torres 1) charged at him 2) left his feet for the hit and 3) hit him in the head. He's going to get suspended for a long time, and whatever he gets will be deserved.. hope Hossa's ok.

EDIT: And it was interference. Media was sequestered too. This sounds pretty damn bad.. he was breathing when he was on the ice, so I guess that's a good sign. But all this other stuff has me worried.
