Mike Slive can get his 3rd place team into the NC game. He should make scheduling at least two FCS teams and no road OOC games mandatory.buckeyemania11;2139231; said:In shocking news, the SEC will play the most FCS opponents of the BCS conferences in 2012

If anyone has the stats on the SOS rankins of the last 6 BCSNCs I'd love to see it.Buckeye513;2139237; said:Mike Slive can get his 3rd place team into the NC game. He should make scheduling at least two FCS teams and no road OOC games mandatory.

Edit: Found it
YEAR TEAM SOS
2011 - Alabama (2)
2010 - Auburn (2)
2009 - Alabama (1)
2008 - Florida (9)
2007 - LSU (20)
2006 - Florida (2)
When we've won almost 70% of our 25 BCS appearances compared to the ACC's 13%, I think you start to see a trend about SEC strength of schedule that is independent of what you infer. Ranking the SEC highly as a false indicator of SOS would have more punch if when we played the best of other conferences we lost at a greater rate that would justify a claim of unfairly boosted SOS. We don't.muffler dragon;2139542; said:You do realize the circular reasoning behind those, correct?

Those wins don't mean dick because they were played within a 250 mile radius of the home university and were played in mild or warm weather.
The only games that mean anything require a minimum 8 hour drive and/or weather below 40 degrees.
Which leads to your suggestion that a better way to handle it is....?muffler dragon;2139602; said:I'm not debating the strength of the SEC as has been played out. I'm debating the process which inherently takes previous history as a basis for present considerations.
