What about how they called it a block during the scrum for the rebound? At first i thought they called a loose ball foul on someone.

why would I watch it in real time? So my amateur officiating eyes would miss him shuffling illegally ?

In real time the loose ball was out on wade or inconclusive. In slow mo it was clearly out on okc.

I hate late whistles but it's pretty clear that they're allowed.

oh I don't know.... maybe because that is how the refs have to call it. The refs had called every similiar play all night a charge except for Hardens flop on Lebron's foul line turnaround. That play being called in KD's favor had just as much of an impact on the game than the late foul on Lebron.

I'm not mad about anything. Durant could have fouled out there but didn't which had a huge impact on OKC coming back.

They also called the game tight all night, except when Chalmers felt like humping harden right before drawing a charge, which was crafty but clearly orchestrated by Chalmers.

you disliking a call and not being able to see it are quite irrelevant to whether the official right there could see it.


That was one of those annoying "whistle if they miss or lose possession" moments. I don't like it any more than continuation but it is commonplace.

The only thing 50-50 about that replay was whether to call it on Shane or let them bang.

Since they were calling collision contact very sensitively, that was a foul.

As jwins said, that's commonplace, and it happens in the Heat's favor too. While we're on the subject of you whining about KD not getting called for a charge, the next time LBJ or Wade gets called for a charge will the first time this series.

The big plays in game 2 were the banked in 3 by Battier, the terrible goaltending call on OKC (Durant blocked it, and then when Ibaka got to it, the ball was never going to hit the rim and was even with it/partially below it, a fact I didn't hear anybody mention in the broadcast), and then the sad no-call when Durant was fouled with about 5 seconds left.

Van Gundy made 1 good comment during the series so far - something to the effect that on the block/charge call, if you're not absolutely sure it's a charge, just call it a blocking foul - that would improve the game a lot.

When they look at replays on block/charges, they act like if the guy is set before contact it's a charge - but the off-ball defender needs to be set and outside the arc at the time the offensive player leaves the floor.

OKC is letting Miami get to the hoop way too easily. Drives, cuts, and 2nd chance points are killing OKC. That said, at least they aren't down 12 after 1...
