2012 B1G All Conference selection

Who the f is Micah Hyde?
He's a pretty good cornerback who might, in fact, be the second best at that position in the B1G behind Brad Roby.

The only CB in the country who I'd put in Roby's class is Dee Milliner of Alabama. Close pick between those two for best in the nation.

Just wish they'd just make the Coach's vote public just to eliminate the politics and add transparency.

Even in Evan Turner's Naismith Award winning year, one Big Ten coach didn't vote him Big Ten Player of the Year.

Certain coaches do not vote for certain schools' players or coaches (for recruiting reasons or otherwise). It really doesn't hurt the process if they made votes public.

I don't think Coach Meyer would appear on BTN two nights in a row, so Bill O'Brien probably won Big Ten Coach of the Year.

Since Braxton didn't appear on BTN Monday, he either had class, an appointment or won Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year and will appear Tuesday.

Same goes with Mike Mauti not appearing Monday (Defensive POY). Although, John Simon didn't appear either.

From BTN.com

On Tuesday night?s ?#BTNLive,? we released the following Big Ten individual awards: Graham-George Offensive Player of the Year (Braxton Miller), Nagurski-Woodson Defensive Player of the Year (John Simon), Thompson-Randle El Freshman of the Year (Deion Barnes), Hayes-Schembechler Coach of the Year and Dave McClain Coach of the Year (Bill O?Brien).

Congrats to all*.

*horse shit call on CotY, but we all saw it coming.

Well, they couldn't give it to Ferentz this year, so lets give it to the guy that went 8-4 and lost to a MAC team. Not the guy that took over a 6-7 team and led them to an undefeated season. Sounds about right.

Ferentz will win it next year, because he has to comeback from this year.

Understand his scheme  ?

Tank a year...COY...Tank a year...COY...Tank a year

Some of these selections are as dumb as the trophy names.

By the way, those trophy names have got to be changed. Rutgers and Maryland are going to feel left out if they don't get a piece of the hyphenated action.

Indeed

Such a ludicrous value was placed on the whole everyone-must-be-included idea that it would make sense (from that point of view) to rename all of the trophies.

How about the Hayes-Friedgen(sp?) COY?

Good move by the rest of the Big Ten coaches. I'm sure Urban is sitting at his desk thinking, "Gosh.. I made those guys really mad. I've learned my lesson."

EDSBS said "Dont make Ryan Shazier mad. Ever." or words to that effect...

well...

If they're going to be butt-hurt when he wins by 11.25 ppg (conference only), why not double it next year? What are they going to do: snub his players for conference awards? Yeah, that was going to happen anyway.

Prepare every orifice B1G.
