Braxton Miller was the first quarterback named to the 2011 U.S. Army All-American Bowl.

SAN ANTONIO - When you're the best, you tend to stand out.

That's why the U.S. Army All-American Bowl announced on Friday the first 19 All-Americans for the 2011 game - almost 12 months before next year's game kicks off.

"The first selections for the bowl always set the tone for each and every edition of the U.S. Army All-American Bowl," said Doug Berman, chairman of SportsLink, the founder of the game.

Free Rivals - Army Bowl: Holliman will announce

If there was one player to catch the attention of his teammates Monday at the East team's practice, it was four-star defensive tackle Timmy Jernigan.

Jernigan was nearly unstoppable during one-on-one drills, with only Aundrey Walker able to slow him.

Yep, we need both of those guys. Aundrey is killing it out there. Looking like a pure beast. Wonder what Duane thinks now that he is dominating the competition. Jernigan is a flat out beast and one of the highest recruits in the nation and Aundrey is slowing him down. He would be a great get for our future offensive line.

Free Rivals - Army to unveil 2012 stars

Joining Blanks and Theus on the East squad next year will be Olney (Md.) Good Counsel athlete Stefon Diggs, Washington (D.C.) Friendship Collegiate Academy defensive tackle Eddie Goldman, Harrisburg (Pa.) Bishop McDevitt defensive end Noah Spence, Oxford (Ala.) linebacker Kwon Alexander and Charlotte (N.C.) Mallard Creek offensive lineman D.J. Humphries.

Diggs, a 6-foot, 175-pounder, is one of the most dynamic prospects on the East Coast and already holds offers from Maryland, Miami, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech and others while Goldman has drawn comparisons with former D.C. five-star Marvin Austin for his athleticism. The 6-foot-4, 307-pounder has offers from more than 30 programs already and his list continues to grow.

Finally, Humphries is considered to be the best offensive lineman in North Carolina since 2010 Army representative Robert Crisp and the 6-foot-5, 265-pounder has early in-state offers from North Carolina, N.C. State, Duke and Wake Forest as well as out-of-state tenders from LSU, Clemson, Florida State, Notre Dame, Ohio State and others.

This...Curtis Grant and Aundrey Walker would be the other two recruits still on the board playing today, along with Bennett and Bobek.
