The VAN/CHI series has been excellent so far. One goal game with about 6 mins left.

ya great game. VAN is up 2-0 but they are couple GREAT saves from being where the pens are. I love these games SOOOOOOOOOOOOO much. Rooting interest or not, NBA cant touch this...

That wasn't a bad hit by Torres, his elbow wasn't up and it's not his fault Seabrook has issues looking at his feet....

Chicago is flopping around like it's an Italian soccer match right now.

The hit was fine, from what I saw, the problem was Seabrook never had possession of the puck. Hopefully there's no further discipline, but it was a penalty.

I'm not even debating if it was a penalty, but the distinct impression you got from the broadcast was they thought it was a dirty hit and then they slowly backtracked from it.

BTW the puck was at his feet if you look at the replay. Just because Seabrook has the puck-handling capability of Mike Commodore shouldn't necessarily mean he didn't have "possession"

As a Blackhawk fan, I was surprised how the announcers were vehement about Torres getting a suspension for that hit behind the net. I was watching the local broadcast in Chicago, so others may have had different announcers on Versus.

He hit him high, but it looked like a shoulder to me.

Luongo made some great saves tonight, putting the defending champions on the brink of making tee times for next week.

the Versus play by play guy was Ken Daniels, who does quite a few of the Red Wings games on FSN Detroit. He's always pretty decent at keeping his opinions to himself and allowing the color guy or the guys on the ice/in the studio talk about the situation. Originally, the color guy on versus, and I didn't catch his name, was certain it was a dirty hit until the beginning of the 3rd period when he voiced his own doubts as well as an informal poll he took during the intermission.

The play-by-play guy on the local broadcast was Pat Foley. Despite an odd tone to his voice, he usually does a good job, but he's something of a homer.

I think he might have said that Torres should be suspended even before Seabrook hit the ice.

I was half listening when one of the intermission guys (Milbury?) said it was an intentional head shot. I just assume that anything said by the Vs. studio crew is about as far from reality as you can get. I don't understand why they can't find some decent hockey commentators. Roenick reached such a high level of douchebaggery today (early game) I almost puked. Those assholes make Engblom and Pang look like Al Michaels and Dick Ebersol.

While I'm ranting about hockey coverage, they need to ditch the "sidelines" reporter between the benches. None of the coaches or players want to be pestered during a period, and the only other thing they do is say "Wow, that shot/save/hit looked amazing from where I'm sitting" 25 times a game. Guess what? You could give a mic to anyone sitting in the first ten rows and get the same thing.

Regardless, Torres made a great hit on a guy that couldn't be legally hit. He shouldn't be punished further because Seabrook is a dumbass/pussy.
