2011 Men's Basketball Conf. Tournaments

Seventh seeded Texas-San Antonio wins the Southland bid.

SWAC 6th seed Prairie View - with a 12-20 overall record - is playing for their conference title tonight. Their opponent, Alabama State, is 16-17.

Don't you just love conference tourneys?

This is why I'm against expanding the field for the NCAA Tournament. No matter what your record (unless you're in the Ivy League) once your conference tournament starts you're already playing for a national championship. It's true for Prairie View on up to Ohio State. If you go to your conference tournament and don't lose another game the rest of the way, you make it to the dance and win it all. Everybody's already included. At large bids simply make it double-elimination for the teams that had the best regular season results - a privilege that I don't think needs to be extended any further.

You're being logical. Expanding the field has nothing to do with logic. It's all about the benjamin$. :wink2:

BYU has it down to 10 with 5:00 left and Fredette is pretty much doing it by himself. He's got 28 of BYU's 52 points. Dude can seriously ball.

SDSU answers, pushes the lead to 14 with 3 to play and a FT coming. Looks like they're going to get some payback on BYU and win the MWC tourney title.
