"They're gonna show the I-back behind the fullback here on fourth down. Are they gonna leave it up to the offensive line? No. Krenzel's gonna throw for it. Gotta get it off. They go for the ballgame! Touchdown! Touchdown! Michael Jenkins! On fourth and one! Would you believe it! Craig Krenzel strikes! With a minute and a half left! Holy Buckeye!!!"

if that doesn't get your blood pumping, nothing will.

I don't think this gets as much attention as it deserves: Beanie had a 50+ yard TD run in THREE STRAIGHT YEARS against tsun. Amazing.

Making him only the second player in OSU history to score a TD in 3 games vs scUM.

Santonio Holmes preceeded him, scoring TDs in The Game in 2003-04-05, but Paul Warfield was not the first to do so - he had TDs in The Game in 1961 & '63, but not in '62, when fullbacks scored all 4 TDs.

Another player joined the list last year, and Boom Herron can become the first to score a TD in The Game in 4 straight years this November.

Didn't realize Boom and Santonio.

Thanks.

You know its funny that's the second factoid I have been corrected on lately and in both cases I was using the book "The Big One" (I forget author but he was an SEC guy) as my source. The other was the score and final play by play of The Game 1961.

When I get unpacked I'll dig into it later this fall or something.

It wasn't all due to bad defense either. The 2006 TSUN defense was arguably the best rushing defense that tOSU faced in the Tressel Decade.

Another interesting fact of the 1961 game is that Bo was the OC for tOSU in that game, calling plays from the booth in Ann Arbor. But Woody said it was his own decision to go for two, in order to have the final combined score be 70 points, since kicking coach Ernie Godfrey was celebrating his 70th birthday and was soon to retire. Of course, the 2-point conversion in 1961 was successful, while the famous quote "because I couldn't go for three" related to the 1968 game, where the 2-point attempt at then end of the game was unsuccessful.

To honor a man for his birthday you take his players off the field?

Woody truly was one-of-a-kind
