He has a chain of sports bars down here called Bru's Room. Great food and atmosphere. Met him once while I was at the old Coconut Creek location for a game a couple years ago. Really nice guy.

While Rufus Mayes serves as the player whose number represents the day; today's number also calls to mind something very special to those of us old enough to remember it: the '73 defense.

I was at the opener. Archie Griffin responded to the Gophers' lone touchdown by returning the kick-off for a score. From there, the '73 defense gave up only ONE touchdown over the next SEVEN [strike]weeks[/strike] games; a feat which will probably never be duplicated.
