With the Big Ten possibly adding its 12th school -- Nebraska -- this afternoon, a conference championship game in football seems inevitable.
And as usual, the Detroit Metro Sports Commission and Ford Field would be interested.
?It?s purely speculation right now,? DMSC executive director Dave Beachnau said. ?What the Big Ten might do is uncertain. We haven?t had any communication with them, so I really don?t have a lot to go on. Certainly, I think it would be a great opportunity.?

Big Ten expansion began Friday with the addition of Nebraska, a move that could have a significant financial impact for the league and lead to another marquee sporting event in Indianapolis.
City officials said Friday that Indianapolis would push to host the Big Ten championship football game, which could be played as soon as December 2011. A title game could be worth as much as $10 million to Indianapolis each time it is played here and $12 million a year to the conference, experts estimate.
